Thursday Ramblings

No More KFC...

My dad has been in the hospital for the past week and a half. On 7/8, he had a heart attack and was rushed to the ER. They didn't know it was a heart attack at the time, he just couldn't breath. The ambulance drivers weren't sure that he would make it to the hospital, but he did. They moved him down here to Maine Med on the 9th, and on the 14th the performed open heart surgery on him and bypassed 5 blocked arteries. Whew!

We have had a lot of people praying for his health, and for his salvation. The health part worked. The surgery went great, and he is on his was to a smooth recovery. We're still praying for his salvation, and I know that God is faithful to hear us, so we will keep praying for as long as it takes.

Does It Ever Slow Down?

I'm tired! We have been at the hospital visiting dad every day except 2 since the 9th. Scott has Cleft to think about, and the band, and SoulFest will be here in less than 2 weeks. Although there is not a ton that I do with these things, it wears me out too! Plus, only having one car means the added stress of having to really plan ahead in case we need to be two different places. Oh yeah, and there's church and the worship band, and working full time, and family and friends that all want your time, and when do I get time for me? I'm dying to finish my new Ted Dekker book, but I'll be lucky if that happens this year. At least we're healthy... for now....

**YAWN**

Scott and I have been getting up early each day to go out and get some exercise. We are soooo busy that it's almost impossible to get it in in the evening. We get up around 5, throw some clothes on, and its off to the park (usually Payson). Scott will play basketball, and I walk. We do this to 6:30, just about every day. We get a good 45 minutes in.

Well, Scott has been doing it a little longer than I have, I've been going about a week, he's been going about 2 and a half, but get this.... he has lost 14 lbs. 14! Guess how much I've lost...

Less than 1. Sad.

Kind of reminds me of this:

Only difference is I still have boobs.

Since I can't seem to loose weight very quickly (and yes, I am eating healthier), my new goal is to speed-walk 2 miles in 30 minutes. This is a big thing for me, since I haven't had any significant exercise since I started my desk job 3 years ago. I get winded walking around Wal*Mart, for heaven's sake. I'm hoping that if I focus on a goal like that, the weight loss will follow.

101 in 1001

Speaking of goals, I'm working on my 101 in 1001 list. I've got 90 or so tasks, so I just need a few more. I will post it once complete, and I think I'll sent next Monday as the start date. I should add 'stop procrastinating' as one of my goals.
